Another one to watch in '09....Black Milk

"Losing Out" by Black Milk and Royce the 5'9"

Heard this track and fell in love (immediately). Detroit's own Black Milk & Royce the 5'9" (sidebar: who I used to be semi-obesessed with and then I met him one day outside of St. Andrews and it LITERALLY made my life)

This track is off Black Milk's "Tronic" LP.

Here's your quick history lesson:

Black Milk is a producer who raps as well. He's produced songs for Slum Village, Pharoahe Monch, and Busta Rhymes. Tronic is his latest LP (his third). He's currently on a European tour and you're not. Oh and he's only 25.

*Re-eveluating life and wondering why I don't have any musical talents*

This dude Black Milk has been slept on for the LONGEST!! All the people in this planet who care about REAL producers (Dilla, Madlib, Pete Rock...etc..) have run across Black Milk @ one point or another.

I was working for Fat Beats when they were CONSIDERING managing his work - but even they couldn't front at how it had seemed as if Black Milk had picked up Dilla's torch...

One of the best to do it - and I'm GLAD he's finally gettin some SHINE! This tune is DOOOOOOPEEE too!
